Three weeks until Scuba Santas 2011
Hi all,

Scuba Santas 2011 is drawing closer and closer and our 5th annual event is set to be a scorcher once again! We've been very busy organising things ready for the event and are especially looking forward to what our move to the NDAC can bring us.

There's lots to cover in this newsletter so without further ado let's get straight to it...
Safe diving,

Scuba Santas

Sunday 18th December 2011 from 9am,
National Diving and Activity Centre, nr. Chepstow

Diving Prizes / Auction / Goody Bag
This year we've got three (that's right) ways which you can get some great diving gear at Scuba Santas....

Goody Bag

Firstly Fourth Element are creating us some custom limited edition Scuba Santas hats, perfect for helping keeping you warm before and after dives this winter.

The goody bag itself is being sponsored by Miflex with Simply Scuba adding more into the mix, we're hoping to get a few more items into the goody bag before the event itself.

Only registered divers are guaranteed a goody bag so register here today.

Dive Raffle

As always we're holding our dive raffle, each and everyone that registers for the event will get free entry and there will be tickets on sale on the day sold by our great RNLI volunteers. The draw will take place at the end of the day. There's a great number of prizes on the list already, the highlight being up to £1,000 worth of ski gear from Ski Alpine. We've also got free day's diving for 2 with Scimitar diving, Divesigns.com vouchers, Scuba Travel vouchers and much, much more to go on the list.

Dive Auction - Grab yourself a bargin!

This year we're going to be holding a dive auction for the more expensive items. On offer are dive computers from VR Tech, PBB base layers from O'three, and more. You could grab yourself a bargin in time for christmas!

If you're not attending the event don't worry we're going to be putting up a proxy bid system on the website this weekend to allow you to put your maximum bid before event. The auction itself will then be held at the NDAC on the day. We'll also update you when all this is available so you can get bidding!

£20,000 for the RNLI?!? Many ways to donate, including text message!
Can you believe that Scuba Santas is now in its 5th year? From our humble beginnings in 2007 with just 8 divers the event has grown massively and it's all thanks to divers like yourself for attending and supporting the event. The ethos of Scuba Santas was always to have a great fun event where the charity money coming as an excellent side effect of having a great time.... but for 2011 we've got a special target...

Scuba Santas is just &pound4,000 from reaching the special milestone of raising £20,000 for the RNLI!

We think that this is an amazing achievement in just a small number of years and we're really excited that we'll reach and break through this fundraising level. This year you can be part of something even more extra special!

Sponsorship

There's several ways to donate to the RNLI via Scuba Santas:
  • Via our justgiving page (scubasantas2011)
  • On the day
  • By texting SCUB51 to 70070 to donate £2
  • Or by collecting from friends and family - our sponsorship form will be up very soon, keep checking the website

Keep up with Scuba Santas via twitter, facebook, youtube, or the website.

Make a weekend of Scuba Santas
Just to let you know that on the 17th December 2011 the NDAC will be open until 10pm for an evening of night dives. Should you be interested in a whole weekend of diving you can do so at the site, and even stay in one of their low cost environmentally friendly on-site wigwams.

See the NDAC website for more details
What's happening over the next few weeks?
Over the next few few weeks we'll be putting the final touches for the day including posting a schedule of events and discussing things with the guys on site at the NDAC to make sure the event runs as smoothly as possible.

We'll also continue contacting more diving companies to try and get more raffle prizes, more auction items, and hopefully lots more FREE goodies for every divers bag. This weekend Scuba Santas will be putting together the proxy bidding service for our auction.

We're also going to be talking to the media to help us spread the word and help raise lots of money for the RNLI.

Until then have a great run up to Christmas, safe diving, and we're looking forward to seeing you at the event.
